I Heart Faces: Reflection

This week's theme at I Heart Faces is "Reflection." Literally! Reflections of our faces in something. I was excited when I saw this week's theme because I had just got a great shot from our trip to Salt Lake City for the Lakers/Jazz game a few days ago! This stone wall had a gorgeous reflective surface and I love how clearly my husband and I show up.

So here is my entry for the Adult Category:

And here is my entry for the Kids Category. This is my little monkey girl! Ever since she was a year old we've called her Curious George, she is just like that little monkey. She even resembled George in looks! So here she is showing me her monkey face!

Check out some more awesome photos of reflections in this week's contest at I Heart Faces!

I Heart Faces: Self Portrait

This week's theme at I Heart Faces is Self Portrait! I have the hardest time getting myself in front of the camera instead of behind, so this week was a difficult challenge for me!

Here is my entry for the kids category. I was outside on Sunday taking pictures of my flowers that had started blooming and Autumn found me at the window! I love the serious look on her face, she is in deep concentration. It only lasted a moment, but that is how she is. She sees things and is so deeply drawn into them. I see her with this look quite often and it defines her so well. She is so intense.

Here is my entry for the adults category. This was hard! All I can say is thank goodness for long arms! I had to take advantage of the length to get a decent shot! Most of the ones I got before I figured this out were pretty freaky! I was thinking, "Oh crap, I hope I really don't look this way to everyone else!" But thankfully the last few were decent! And I've been reassured I don't look like a freak...I think!

My Baby Vegetable Garden

Here is my baby vegetable garden! The girls had so much fun planting the seeds with us! They are so excited to see the plants sprout. Summer kept asking when she could eat them!

I'm excited for it to get warm so we can transplant these into the garden. I can't wait for all the yummy vegetables and fruit this summer! We planted a lot more varieties than we did last year, we should be able to save some money on produce.

In case you're curious, here is what we planted:
tomatoes: roma, beefsteak and cherry
peppers: bell, jalapeno and chili
radishes
sugar snap peas
sweet white corn
broccoli
romaine lettuce
cucumbers
watermelon
canteloup
chives
dill
basil
oregano

Easter!

Saturday afternoon we colored eggs. The girls had so much fun drawing on the eggs to make pictures! Mommy and Daddy had fun too!

Summer's picture in her Easter dress. I couldn't get any good pictures of her smiling, but I really love how this turned out. She looks like this a lot, so serious at times. Though it's only a mask hiding the mischief she is planning!

Autumn in her Easter dress. I love this! She is my little model, always posing for me! Unlike Summer, where it's pure torture getting her picture taken!

Here are both my girls, it's the best shot I could get. Summer's freaking out because she has to get her picture taken, and Autumn freaking out because she doesn't know what to think of Summer's behavior! Autumn LOVES getting her picture taken, so she doesn't understand what in the heck Summer's problem is!!

Here is the bribe to get Summer to let me take her picture!!! What a fun Easter we had!

I Heart Faces: Easter & Spring!

This is my first time entering an I Heart Faces contest! This weeks theme is Easter/Spring and there are two categories, Kids and Ameteurs.

You are an Amateur if you love to take photos, have been working on getting better at photography (ie. reading books, taking classes, studying online photography sites, etc.), but are not up to the level where you feel comfortable charging people for the photos you take for them yet. You also feel like you still have a lot more to learn about photography!

I am definitely an ameteur! I have just started to learn all about photography and I just got my new Canon Rebel Xsi last month. There is so much information to learn! Wow!!

Here is my entry for the Ameteur category. I'm so excited, this looks like so much fun! I've been looking through the entries and there are a lot of talented people out there! It's a little intimidating, but I'm excited to try! Anyways, here is my daughter Autumn in her Easter dress. She is such a little model! She loves posing for me!
